Margaret River Canoe Tour
Meet at Margaret River mouth, Prevelly Beach 9.40am (we can also arrange a pickup at Margaret River Visitors Centre 9.30am if you have no transport). At the river mouth, enjoy exhilarating views off Surfers Point and the river meeting the ocean.
Equipment and canoe instruction is professionally provided for all ability levels. At 10.15am tour guests depart into the river valley, past cliffs, pioneer and aboriginal sites, by 2-5 seater canoes.
As no motor craft are permitted on the river, the healthy native eco system with rare public access, boasts clean, clear water, Australian wildlife, unique forests and tranquil waters.
Lunch is served and wild foods fully explained by 1pm. Paddle upstream past forested kangaroo habitats and learn the history of our first native inhabitants and the trials of the famous Bussell family of Busselton. Unique photo sites, fun in the sun. Meander home or race for the Margaret River wine to Surfer’s Beach at 2pm.
This trip has won 3 state awards for its unique itinerary!
The Bushtucker lunch is a special treat, not your standard tour lunch! Included is an exotic selection of wild food tastes from all over Western Australia, together with locally made pestos, chutneys, dips and baked breads. Kangaroo, tender and tasty, emu with wild nut pesto, and wild turkey topped with rosella chutney as well as crocodile are all on the menu. Vegetarians are well catered for. Enjoy 20 unique native tastings!

That was during our last holiday (in conjunction with our little one’s school holiday), when we planned to spend it in Margaret River and its surroundings. On our first day we talked to Bushtucker Tours and booked for the canoeing adventure. That day was the best among all during our trip, canoes were ready on time, everything were precisely organised. Helen from Bushtucker Tours has a great knowledge about the area and its history, the food she served during the break in the mid of the tour was fabulously rich in native Australian tastes and culture. Briefly, we had unforgettable memories. I would love to repeat it again every time I visit the Margaret RiverVictor Q.5 months ago
The canoe tour was excellent. Our guide was knowledgeable about the local history. We really enjoyed the lunch with a selection of local produce and native wildlife. There was enough for everyone to fill up after an energetic morning.Brandon Loo3 months ago
Fantastic experience canoeing on the Margaret River. Tour was made so easy, boats all ready (as well as lunch). Easy to canoe up the river, so beautiful. Bushtucker lunch was amazing, such a variety of native foods (as well as few normal things for the less adventurous). My fussy eater tried everything because it all looked so good, and found he loved the crocodile 🙂 Thanks for great day out.Jenny Hart3 months ago
A perfect little getaway - that pushed the refresh button! A nature based explore and more - without the hassle organising ! Via Sean’s Discovery Tour with seamless ease ..we did a touch of canoeing amidst tall rare native forrest, in gentle crystal waters; watched overhead by a pair of endangered Baudins with their young! Off for coffee by the coast taking in surf action at Cow Bombie, regional tips on wine with a cellar lunch and the winemaker on hand at Fraser Gallop ..We finished off with a afternoon coastal view walk of part of Cape to Cape !! Couldnt give us a better day Sean unbelievably very very good delivered by an authentic intelligent guide. A little bit of everything! As non tour people this ticked all the boxes ..deeringtogo5 months ago

Fantastic Experience Such a great day canoeing on the Margaret river with our tour guide Helen who was extremely friendly and knowledgeable in regards to nature, indigenous foods, and the Bussel family history. Being the first time in a canoe it was daunting at first but in the end I got the hang of it! The bush tucker lunch also a hit, hadn’t tried half the food and now be known to me I’m a massive fan of crocodile!! I would highly recommend Bushtucker Tours and will have to do the wine tour next time!! Thank you once again!courtneyjanep2 months ago
